Manager, Investor Outreach

About The Role
 This role sits within the Investor Outreach team that is responsible for leading FAIRR’s global investor engagement strategy, managing key investor relationships, identifying new partnership opportunities, and driving member recruitment and retention. This includes representing FAIRR at high-profile events, delivering thought leadership, and supporting targeted outreach to key investor segments, including asset owners and fixed income investors. The team ensures that financial materiality is embedded into FAIRR's offering drives value for investors.
 
This role will focus on strengthening relationships with specific investor categories and within the European markets and the Investor Outreach Manger will play an essential role in delivering this by identifying and engaging investors, building and maintaining strong relationships by working collaboratively. 
Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management and Expansion
  • Manage the key investor relationships in your priority regions (e.g.  European markets), adapting FAIRR’s offer to fit their specific needs and priorities.
  • Lead one-on-one meetings and broader investor interactions to increase awareness of ESG risks and opportunities in the food system.
  • Strengthen ties with existing members, ensuring active participation and expanding connections within their organisations including expanding new contacts within member teams to reach more quantitative, thematic and portfolio management teams
  •  Collaborate with FAIRR colleagues to align investor insights with internal efforts, encouraging integration of market trends into FAIRR’s tools, data, and themes.
Strategy Development and Execution
  • Implement  and execute the strategy set by the Director of Outreach (by creating and delivering a work plan)
  • Work with the Director of Outreach and other Outreach team colleagues to input into the membership engagement strategy
  • To deliver an excellent membership journey and member experience with FAIRR
  • Help raise awareness of ESG materiality in the food sector (especially protein value chains) and promote ESG integration into investment practices.
  • Support the strategy for deepening engagement with investor groups in specific European countries and raising FAIRR’s visibility among investor categories like asset owners and fixed-income investors.
Member Experience
  • Recommend improvements to enhance member engagement and tailor FAIRR’s messaging and activities to investor needs.
  • Contribute to refining the member journey and improving the team’s ability to deliver value, using feedback to shape products and monitor relationship strength.
Communication and External Representation
  • Represent FAIRR at relevant financial and sustainability events to raise the organisation’s profile within the investment industry and share research and updates.
  • Act as a FAIRR ambassador—speaking at events and engaging with media and stakeholders to build brand awareness.
  • Event Management - organising events / meetings with Investors
Training and Development
  • Support team training to ensure that team members understand and deliver consistent and effective membership experiences in relation to ongoing engagements and communication.
  • Create educational resources and programs to build investor understanding of sustainability in the food system and FAIRR’s focus areas.
Administration: Document Preparation, , Reporting, Database Administration of the CRM (Salesforce)
  • Prepare customised communications for specific investors, including materials for different asset classes and case studies.
  • Contribute to board-level reports that provide MI and updates on Outreach achievements, risks and progress.
  • Undertake database administration by ensuring that you capture and record your investor interactions on FAIRR’s CRM system (Sales Force)
Travel
  • Willingness to travel internationally, particularly within European markets.
Essential Criteria
  • Strong experience in relationship management, networking, and business development—ideally in the financial or consulting sectors.
  • Confident leading meetings and pitches with investment professionals, corporates, and policymakers.
  • Solid understanding of global capital markets and how different investment roles use ESG data and research.
  • Collaborative team player with sharp analytical thinking and commercial awareness.
  • Highly organised with strong time management and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (especially PowerPoint and Word); experience using databases such as a CRM 
Desirable Criteria
  • Background in investment or financial services.
  • Skilled public speaker with experience participating in events and media engagements.
  • Prior experience organising events
  • Familiarity with responsible investing
  • Established networks among major asset owners.
  • Passion for sustainable finance and driving positive change through investment.
  • Understanding of food systems and the relevant themes (e.g.one or more of the following climate, nature, water, aqua culture, working conditions or anti biotic use in food) and the dynamics between stakeholders in food supply chains.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English with the ability to adapt communication style to be tailored to the audience
  • Additional language(s) beyond English
  • Experience working across global market - with cultural sensitivity
  • Master’s degree or investment-related qualification.
  • Previous experience with SalesForce specifically
