IT Operations Lead

Key Responsibilities

Technical Operations (80% of the role)

  • Manage and optimise our SaaS-based technology stack, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Salesforce, and other Cloud-delivered applications
  • Collaborate with our IT Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure smooth 1st and 2nd line support for end-user requirements
  • Collaborate with our Cyber Security partner to develop and implement IT security strategies and policies
  • Implement and maintain best practices for system security, data integrity, and business continuity
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues that escalate beyond MSP support and ensure regular and timely updates to business users and key stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain documentation for systems, processes, and procedures
  • Provide technical guidance and support to end-users as needed
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various platforms
  • Developing standard operating procedures using industry best practice
  • Manage relationships with third-party suppliers and vendors
  • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for IT services
  • Conduct regular service reviews to ensure optimal performance

Strategic Planning and Vision (20% of the role)

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the IT roadmap
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and technology optimisation leveraging SaaS-based applications and platform services.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends
  • Propose innovative solutions to enhance productivity and user experience
  • Participate in strategic discussions to align IT initiatives with business objectives
  • Develop and align the IT strategy with business goals & drive transformation initiatives

Essential Criteria
  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations, preferably in a SaaS-heavy environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite, SharePoint, and CRM systems (preferably Salesforce)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Cloud-based services (i.e. Microsoft Entra, Intune, Autopilot)
  • Experience working with Managed Service Providers to provide 1st and 2nd line support
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • In-depth knowledge of IT security best practices and compliance requirements
  • Proven track record in managing end-user services and support
  • Excellent commercial skills, including contract negotiation and vendor management
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and engender support for ideas / improvements 
  • Strong leadership and relationship management abilities (to manage suppliers)
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and cloud technologies
  • Experience in project management and implementing IT solutions
  • Problem-solving capabilities
